Home to scarlet macaws, four monkey species, tapirs, crocodiles, pumas, and the elusive jaguar — Corcovado is unlike anywhere else on Earth. We handle all permits, guides, and logistics for you. Two ways in:
Full-day wildlife experience departing 5:20 am from Puerto Jiménez. Includes licensed guide, park permits, boat, and lunch at the ranger station (vegetarian/vegan available). Private tours available on request.
Drive 1.5 hrs to Carate, then hike 12–16 km into the park for an immersive jungle experience. $80/pp with own 4×4, or $125/pp including 4×4 transport. Guide and permits included. Overnight stays at La Sirena available on request.
Book Corcovado Early — Permits Sell Out!
Corcovado National Park issues strictly limited daily entry permits, released 6 months in advance — and they regularly sell out. We strongly recommend contacting us as soon as you book your stay so we can secure your Corcovado permits and licensed guide before spots are gone. Don’t miss out on one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences.
🐬 Dolphin & Whale Watching — Josh’s Tour
An unforgettable morning on the Golfo Dulce with your co-host Josh
Join your co-host Josh for a morning on the Golfo Dulce — one of the world’s rare tropical fjords and one of the best places on the planet to see wild dolphins. Nearly every tour encounters pods of 300+ resident pan-tropical spotted dolphins. From July to December, watch for humpback whales and calves. Whale sharks are often spotted January through March.
Experience the rainforest after dark on a guided 3-hour walk through primary forest with easy, accessible trails. Explore the Bamboo and Ñeque/agouti zones, spot nocturnal wildlife — frogs, reptiles, insects, and mammals — and learn about local flora and fauna. Guide David meets you right at the house.
A unique chance to observe wild sloths in their natural habitat — often 6 or more per visit — plus birds and tropical plants. Run by the friendly Valverde family, this small-group experience is one of the most charming wildlife encounters on the Osa Peninsula. About 30 minutes from Casa del Bambu.
A 6-hour adventure deep into the wild forests of the Matapalo area, visiting the beautiful Piro waterfall — a safe year-round swimming spot. Rich in wildlife with well-protected primary forest and excellent birdwatching. No park permits required. Licensed guide David leads the tour and includes 4×4 transport.
Explore the Golfo Dulce’s mangrove forests by kayak, or join the magical bioluminescent night kayak tour — where every paddle stroke lights up the water in glowing blue. Run by locally-owned Aventuras Tropicales. Note: bioluminescence tours are not offered around full moons, so check the moon calendar when booking.
The Golfo Dulce and nearby Pacific offer world-class fishing with experienced local captains. Go offshore for marlin, dorado, sailfish, and tuna; or inshore for snapper, jack, and the legendary roosterfish. Full-day and half-day charters available.
Caño Island Biological Reserve near Drake Bay is considered one of the top 10 dive sites in the world — featuring coral reefs, rays, sharks, sea turtles, and abundant sea life. Day tours depart around 7 am and include all equipment, lunch, and park entry fees. Approximately 1.5–2 hours from Casa del Bambu.
Matapalo’s beaches cater to all experience levels: Pan Dulce (beginner-friendly), Backwash (intermediate), and Cabo Matapalo (advanced). Group lessons with Pollo Surf School are a 2-hour session at Pan Dulce Beach — great fun for first-timers. Lesson times are tide-dependent.
A morning at a beautiful organic cacao farm just 15 minutes from Casa del Bambu in Cañaza village. Sample tropical fruits, learn about the chocolate-making process from bean to bar, and enjoy the lush farm surroundings. A delicious and educational experience for all ages. Fresh farm lunch available.
Ride through jungle trails to breathtaking ocean viewpoints, with excellent chances to spot wildlife along the way. Rancho Tropical is 30 minutes from Casa del Bambu. This 3–4 hour tour departs at 8 am, 10 am, or 1:30 pm — perfect for all riding levels.
Just 20 minutes from Puerto Jiménez, the Bosque Mar canopy tour features 8 platforms and 1,200 metres of zip lines through the rainforest canopy. Thrilling views, lush surroundings, and about 2 hours of pure adrenaline. Advance booking required.
The ultimate jungle luxury — a professional massage in the comfort of your own space. Aurelie (Swedish massage) and Francoise (Thai massage) both offer in-home treatments. The perfect reward after a day in Corcovado or on the water. We arrange the booking for you.
